“It started in our kubo in my hometown…”
Back when I was studying architecture, we had a kubo just outside our house. That’s where I’d spend hours doing my plates – sketching, designing, thinking. It wasn’t big, it wasn’t fancy. But it was cool, calm, and comfortable, even on the hottest days.
That kubo made me realize something: good design doesn’t need to fight the climate— it can work with it.
That’s where Simetrika began – not just as a name, but as a mindset.
Simetrika isn’t just about symmetry in design – it’s about balance.
A balance between modern needs and local wisdom. Between sleek lines and breathable spaces. Between aesthetics and function. It’s about creating homes that feel right because they were designed right—for our climate, for our lifestyle, for our future.
Let’s be real – mainit talaga sa Pilipinas. Sometimes, you’ll still turn on the aircon. But if your home is built with the right orientation, airflow, shading, and materials? You’ll use it less. You’ll save more. And you’ll live better.
At Simetrika, that’s what we do.
We design homes that breathe. Spaces that stay cool. Architecture that understands the Filipino way of life.
Simetrika isn’t just about symmetry in shapes. It’s about balance:
We approach every project with intention, combining climate-smart planning, passive design strategies, and local materials to create architecture that’s not only beautiful, but truly livable.
Whether it’s a family home, a renovated rental, or a tiny house for passive income—every Simetrika project is designed to breathe, flow, and feel like home.
Guided by climate, culture, and purpose – every decision we make reflects our values in design.
Thoughtfully oriented and ventilated spaces
Especially wood and native finishes
Clean lines, meaningful details
We listen, adapt, and design with you
Architecture that fits how we truly live
Simetrika Design Studio is proudly led by Geraldine De Vera, a licensed architect specializing in modern tropical and climate-responsive design.
After graduating in 2019 with a degree in Architecture from the University of Luzon, Geraldine spent two years working as an apprentice in Dagupan, where she gained hands-on experience in residential and local architectural practice. She then dedicated six months to preparing for and passing the Architectural Licensure Exam. After becoming a registered architect, she returned to professional practice in the Dagupan area for another two years.
While working full-time, Geraldine began laying the foundation for Simetrika – guided by a vision of creating thoughtful, balanced spaces rooted in Filipino living and tropical sustainability.
Today, she leads Simetrika as a one – woman team, overseeing everything from design development to project visualization. Her approach is practical, creative, and deeply informed by real world experience in the Philippine context.
